After all the confusion and speculations about the new Michael Jackson songs released/leaked on the internet in the last week, there comes finally something which noone can doubt about: The first official single from the new MJ album - Hold My Hand - and it´s a real-MJ one.

The track is a duet between Michael Jackson and the singer Akon and was recorded in 2007, got leaked in its unfinished version in 2008, but was fully finished by Akon only a few weeks ago and put on the album. It was Michael´s wish for Hold My Hand to be the first single of a new album (handwritten on a note belonging to his Estate), so this choice seems logical and one of those made by Sony which noone can argue about.

"In 2007, I co-wrote a song called "Hold My Hand" with Akon," songwriter Claude Kelly said on his Tumblr blog Friday. "A good friend and dope engineer, Exit Goodchild, made it sound like magic. My idol, Michael Jackson, recorded it and made one of my lifelong dreams come true. It was slated to come out. ... What happened next the whole world knows. It's now 2010, and although the circumstances are bittersweet, I am still honored and proud that 'Hold My Hand' will have its day in the sun. Grateful."

The main feel of the powerful song with hymn-like quality is uniting people in love - surely a very fitting one in these days and also a classical Michael Jackson one which has been so loved and appreciated about his music.

"The world was not ready to hear 'Hold My Hand' when it leaked a couple years ago," Akon said. "We were devastated about it. But its time has definitely come; now in its final state, it has become an incredible, beautiful, anthemic song. I'm so proud to have had the chance to work with Michael, one of my all-time idols."
